Haley Hawk 's Story

Haley would like to a little about hawks.
The story is written below for you to read
while listening to Haley.

Hi everyone. I'm Haley Hawk.
When you hear "hawk," what picture comes into your mind? Do you see a big powerful bird on the lookout with a sharp beak, long, sharp talons and big wings? Is that hawk soaring high in the sky over fields and trees, looking like it’s floating? That’s a great picture!
Do you want to know what we’re doing up there? We’re on the lookout for our next meal.
Hawks are considered to be the most intelligent of the bird species. Our eyesight is eight times sharper than yours. We have hundreds more nerves that connect our eyes to our brains, plus a second set of eye muscles that no other animal or human has.
I am a Red Tailed Hawk. You’ll see me sitting on local telephone poles, fence posts or tree tops waiting for my next meal to scurry by. I hunt for mice and young rabbits, lizards, snakes and birds. My beak is curved and my nails (talons) are long and sharp to catch my prey.
My sharp eyes also help me look out for your safety as well. Always use your eyesight and mind to look out for your own safety and the safety of others. It is important that you think first, act second.
