The Oasis at Mount Vernon Thousand Trails

In the spotlight today is THE OASIS at Mount Vernon.  It is the only recreational indoor facility of its kind in the Thousand Trails System.  Rain will not put a damper on the recreation program at Mt Vernon!

Several years ago, when Thousand Trails was based in Bellevue WA, Mount Vernon housed the corporate supply and storage warehouse.  Upon the corporate departure to Dallas, Texas the warehouse became a garage for the Northwest's broken and outdated equipment.

In 2004, with staffing changes at Mount Vernon, a fresh perspective was brought into play and a new vision began. 

The Mount Vernon recreation and maintenance departments, put to motion the creation of the Oasis, a family friendly indoor recreation facility. The building was cleared of clutter, walls were framed, painted and erected, courts were measured, mapped, and painted, equipment was moved in, and the vision took shape.

The Oasis is now home to three pickleball courts (believed to be the only indoor courts in the system), a regulation basketball court, pool table, foosball, and ping pong.

Plans for further development include lighting (a project already started), a 12' x 50' traverse climbing wall, portable mini golf course and a snack bar. The renovation is a work in progress, the ideas are ever evolving, but the potential has remained endless, ever changing and ever growing.

 What about the outdoors?  How about this:  Mt Vernon has one of the most popular PAINTBALL courses in the area and it is so popular with parents and children  that games are run 3 days a week;  also available are shuffleboard, spa, swimming pool, volleyball court, wading pool and nature trails. Then, there is  the always popular Teen Socials at least once a month. With a wonderful recreational staff that emphasizes the CLUB BLAZER PROGRAM,  parents and children can be assured of a wonderful vacation experience.
