May 2-4: The Races At Chesapeake
Both the Kentucky Derby and NASCAR will be covered, plus we’ll have a homemade car (materials provided) race event! In the evening, watch a movie on our big screen.
May 9-11: Mum’s the Word
We’re devoting the entire weekend to honoring the amazing women in our lives. Pamper the mother in your family by purchasing a day-spa experience for her that she will truly appreciate. We’ll serve moms light refreshments as they socialize and sink into a state of blissful relaxation! A special invitation to vendors of women’s products is extended to join our crafters that day. Then on Saturday night, Mom and Dad can rekindle their love on the dance floor.
May 16-18: Armed Forces Day and Gospel Music Performance
We ask our armed forces personnel and/or their families to accept our thanks at a reception in their honor. We’ll also feature a Country Gospel Music Association performance on Friday, with music for the soul by award-winning performer Jerry Jones!
May 23-24: Memorial Day Celebration
A weekend for cookouts, dances and contest titles to challenge or defend. Come out for horseshoe tournaments and blindfolded golf cart races. Crafters sell their handmade items at the craft bazaar. And what would Memorial Day be without dances on Saturday and Sunday nights?
May 30-June 1: Rappahannock River Cruise
Embarking from Tappahannock, this guided river cruise will stop at Ingleside Winery for lunch and a winery tour before heading back to port. This is a perfect way to stock your wine cellar.
June 6-8: Fishing 101
Our experts will teach the whole family all about bait, hooks, fishing rods, fish and casting. We’ll also have the Coast Guard Auxiliary here for a boat safety class. The non-fishers can bring great junk (fine pre-owned collectibles) to sell right from sites. Dance at dark to follow.
June 13-15: Who’s Your Daddy?
We’ll serve up free hot dogs at the horseshoe pits. Kids can make Dad a gift at arts and crafts, or buy one from a crafter at the craft bazaar. Mom can treat Dad to a juicy steak dinner Saturday night and then get him out on the dance floor at the DJ dance.
June 20-22: Summer Solstice
Start the summer with your family and friends at our pool party, playing baseball games and more great fun throughout the day. Dance at dark.
June 27-28: Pirates of the Piankatank
Ahoy, Matey! Jump on board and brandish your sword for this swashbuckling adventure! Kids, you’ll find all kinds of pirate booty at the Trading Post to help you dress the part. Watch all three “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies at the golf cart drive-in. Mock court and a DJ Dance! Funky chicken dancers will be forced to walk the plank!
July 4-6: Independence Day Celebration
Laze around at the pool party while sipping your iced tea or soda. Check out the craft bazaar and decorate your golf cart for our annual golf cart parade. Big prize money is at stake, so make it look good! Come kick up your heels at the Dance at Dark.
July 11-13: Flower Power Show
Bring your hippie beads and tie-dyed t-shirts. Protest receding hairlines. Share that hidden talent at the talent show and enjoy the DJ dance.
July 18-20: Gospel Jamboree
In partnership with the Country Gospel Music Association, we’ll feature multiple performances by talented country gospel music groups. There will be music for the soul throughout the whole day!
July 14-18: Vacation Bible School
This weeklong event is better than any vacation Bible school at home, because it’s combined with camping!
July 25-27: Christmas in July/Ten Thousand Villages
Ten Thousand Villages presents exquisite home decor, personal accessories and gift items handcrafted by artisans from around the world. Dance at Dark in the evening will be the family activity.
August 1-3: Hawaiian Luau
Bring your mom or dad to the lodge and make your own banana split. In the afternoon we will have coconut-bowling games at the pavilion. Dance at Dark.
August 8-10: Wagon Wheelers Square Dancing
Mike and crew serve up a finger lickin’ barbecue chicken dinner, followed by family square dancing with the Wagon Wheelers!
August 15-17: Country Gospel and Bingo
Enjoy a toe-tapping performance by the Country Gospel Music Association. Then for our bingo maniacs out there, we’ll play bingo all day Saturday: breakfast bingo, white elephant bingo, candy bar bingo and more!
August 22-24: Back-To-School Blues
Let’s make it a weekend to remember before school starts. Kids, bring your new school clothing to model. Other activities to be announced.
August 29–September 1: Labor Day Celebration
It’s the last fling of summer, and our party starts poolside with island tunes by Jimmy Buffet drifting over the water. Last horseshoe tournament of the year, two DJ dances and a rare swim treat for our dogs in the family pool. The adult pool will be open for anyone who doesn’t want to share the water with canines!

May 23-26: Memorial Day Bash
Let’s start off the new season with a bang! Come join our Fear Factor Weekend. We have new treats in store for you this year. We’ll have exciting events going on with a DJ, barbecue, ice cream social and much more!
June 13-15: Father’s Day Weekend
Come on out and show your dad how much he means to you. Serve him breakfast in bed from our buy-one-get-one-free menu at the Chuck Wagon. Make Father’s Day cards and gifts in the clubhouse and try out the fathers vs. kids horseshoes and fishing contests.
June 20-22: Country Weekend
Country weekend is back for the second year with the International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame. Come out and watch the knife and tomahawk throwing, western shows by Cowboys East, country music, a bonfire and much more!
July 4-6: Fourth of July Celebration
Come out and have a fun-filled weekend of games, prizes, dancing and barbecues. Relax in the sun by our pool and let us do the cooking for you.
July 18-20: Third Annual Honeymoon Weekend
How much do you know about your spouse? We have a lot of fun with this! It doesn’t matter if you’re an oldie-wed, newlywed, or nearly-wed. We have a weekend of fun for you.
August 8-10: Luau Weekend
This has become one of our biggest weekends at Chestnut Lake. We spend the weekend making hula skirts and leis to wear to our pig roast. Please don’t forget to sign up, as we do sell out fast. Prizes for the best-dressed and best hula dancers.
August 29-September 1: Labor Day Weekend
We will be having our annual carnival with games, prizes, food and music for everyone to enjoy. Relax by the bonfire at night.

Hershey
April 25-27: Frogs, Turtles and Fish, Oh My!
Join us for our annual fishing derby for all ages! Our ponds will be stocked with hungry fish just waiting to jump on your line. Prizes given to the great angler who catches the largest fish, the most fish, and the albino.
May 9-11: Mom’s Weekend
It’s all about catering to moms this weekend. We will have fun kids vs. moms contests, a delicious tea and cookie social where the kids serve Mom, and kids can make Mom something special at crafts. Treat your mom to delicious meals all weekend long at the Hershey Cafe. The No Limit Band will entertain on Saturday night. Sandy Glass Ministries on Sunday.
May 23-25: Memorial Day Weekend
Join us for our Memorial Day service after our annual pancake breakfast. This will be a weekend full of fun and games for the whole family. The Dunneman Singers will be here on Sunday morning and we will have casino night for the adults Sunday evening.
June 6-7: Casino Royal
Lots of blackjack and Texas hold ‘em in store for you this weekend. Adults, join us for our annual casino night. Whether you would like to participate in games of chance or volunteer to be a dealer, you will have a blast this weekend. Adding to the excitement will be a James Bond movie marathon at the adult lodge. The weekend will be filled with games, crafts and nature programs for the kids.
June 13-15: Happy Dad’s Day
Make your own derby cars with Dad and race them, join in a horseshoe tourney plus other games to challenge your skills. Saturday night enjoy the talents of Roger “Hurricane” Wilson and the Victory Express singing group Sunday.
June 20-22: Barking and Meowing
This weekend is for all pet lovers! Dress up your four-legged friend for our pet parade, enter our pet talent show, and have your pooch join the dog obedience class. Join us on Sunday for the New Creation Singers from Teen Challenge.
June 27-29: Summer Fling Carnival
Old-fashioned carnival games and food for all to enjoy. Pingpong toss, football throw, cotton candy, snow cones, crafts and games of chance galore! The amazing juggler/magician/comedian Al Grout will entertain us on Saturday night. Gideon’s Sunday will be here Sunday morning.
July 4-6: Independence Weekend
Come help us celebrate with games from the past and present. Red, white and blue crafts for all ages, our famous water slide and a chance to win the best-decorated site contest. Casino night and a pool party for teens 14 and older. The Soul Purpose Quartet will be here on Sunday.
July 18-20: Outdoor Adventure
Join us for a safari hunt and jungle boat races and make tribal necklaces. Learn about wildlife from an expert.
July 25-27: Treasure Island
Bring your favorite costumes for our best-dressed contest. Treasure hunts and games for all ages this weekend. Crafts for young and old will add to the fun.
August 1-3: Luau Weekend
Join us for a weekend full of authentic Hawaiian games. Make your own leis and grass skirts to wear at the luau. We’ll have our famous pig roast, with authentic side dishes. Back by popular demand, the Culture Shock dancers will be here to entertain! Purchase tickets early before they sell out! Call the Country Store at (717) 867-5638.
August 8-10: Game Show Weekend
Have you always wanted to be a game show contestant? Here’s your chance! We’ll be playing Survivor, Name that Tune, Let’s Make a Deal, Jeopardy and an exciting game of Dancing With the Thousand Trails Stars.
August 15-17: Kickoff Weekend
Start football season with a big tailgate party in our parking lot. We’ll have a cheerleading contest, football games and crafts to match your favorite teams. Join us Sunday for the Harmonizers, a local men’s chorus.
August 22-24: Back to School Blues
Chase away those blues with a weekend of fun games, crafts and a talent show. Bring your instruments, tune up the vocal cords, dust off your dancing shoes and be prepared to show off your talent!
August 29-31: Labor Day Hoedown
Wear your best cowboy and cowgirl outfits this weekend and join in a horseshoe tourney, horse races, and many other down-on-the farm games. Casino night on Sunday for the adults. End of the year pool party for teenagers 14 and older. The Last Generation Singers will be here Sunday.
September 5-7: Flower Power
Want to relive the ’60s? Join us and bring those old “rags” and win our best-dressed contest. Peace and love!
September 12-14: Bingo Mania
We’ll play regular bingo, candy bar bingo, dime bingo, NASCAR bingo, brown bag bingo and surprise bingo. We’ll play all day if you can!
September 19-21: Old Timers Weekend
Bring your tales from the past and share with us. Wine and cheese social for adults only. You will have a chance to meet old and new friends and share experiences. Enjoy the talents of the Memory Music Band. Movie night for the kids on the patio.
September 26-28: Apple Harvest
Apple-peeling contest, apple pie contest, apple dumplings, sausages, roast beef sandwiches, hot drinks and many more delicious foods and games all weekend long! Sell your crafts and flea market items; this one is open to the public! Sign up at the recreation office or call (717) 867-5516.
October 3-5: Night at the Races
Come race around all weekend. We’ll have our famous duck races Saturday night. Be prepared for some surprise entries. Activities and crafts for all ages.
October 10-12: Around the World
Can we do it in a weekend? Enjoy games, food, crafts and fun from around the world. Be aboard for this unusual weekend.
October 17-19: Let’s Go Batty
Gear up for Halloween with pumpkin painting and carving, a seed-spitting contest plus wacky pumpkin bowling.
October 24-26: Haunted Halloween Weekend
Pumpkin painting and carving, site-decoration contest, costume parade and costume contest. Trick-or-treating on Saturday! The Family Circle will be here on Sunday morning.

Come join us for a fun-filled weekend. We will be serving breakfast, playing bingo, Indy rally, kickball, three-legged races, Saturday night dinner and a live band!
June 6-8: Benefit for a Cancer Cure
Come join us to help stop cancer! We will be having a car show and lots of excitement-filled activities. Dash plaques, t-shirts, door prizes, DJ, bingo, horseshoes, mini golf, food and much more.
June 13-15: Happy Father’s Day
Start the day out right and bring Dad or Grandpa to breakfast. Enjoy a game of kickball and test your strength during a fun game of tug-o-war.
July 4-6: Independence Day Weekend
Our west gate will be open to Miller Park, where you can go for free beans, bingo, a cakewalk, live band, games, fireworks display and much more. We will also be playing pickleball, and don’t miss out on the hilarious newlywed game.
July 11-13: Kids’ Fun Night
This weekend it is all about the kids. Sorry parents, only kids allowed at our Saturday sleep-in. This weekend is sure to be a blast!
August 22-24: Share Night
Get ready for a “carry-in” dinner and swap meet. Get to know each other and bring a small brown bag with some of your hobbies or interests to swap with each other.
August 29- September 1: Labor Day Weekend and Little Italy Festival
Kick off the weekend by going to the parade in Clinton and enjoying the downtown sights. Join us at the park for breakfast, dodge ball with water balloons, dinner and a live band on Saturday night. We’ll also play capture the flag and bingo. Take a break and visit Clinton’s Italian Festival, with music, food, games and fireworks.
September 12-14: Let’s Travel
We will travel to Rockhome Gardens, where we’ll enjoy a family-style buffet lunch at a great Amish restaurant and spend the day roaming around Amish Country.
September 26-28: Competition Cookoff
Who can make the best chili and dessert? Bring your favorite dishes to be judged.
October 3-5: Happy Halloween
We will be having “carry-in” dinner, trick-or-treating and haunted trails for the kids! Visit the nearby town of Newport for the annual Hill Climb, where you can check out the antique cars and enjoy the parade, food and flea market.

Indian Lakes
May 23-25: Memorial Day Weekend
It’s back to the ‘50s once again! Dust off your saddle shoes and grease back your hair for a fun-filled weekend, ‘50s-style. There will be a cruise-in for all you car collectors, music by the group Backdraft with dance competitions, and Mel’s Diner will be grilling up some goodies. Hula-Hoop contests and lots more. Be there or be square.
May 30-June 1: It’s Hobo Weekend Time
We’ll be cooking up hobo stew, singing campfire songs, having campfire-cooking demos, making and flying kites and a few other surprises.
June 6-8: We’re Going to the Dogs!
This weekend is all about pets. We’ll be grilling burgers and dogs on Friday night, followed by a movie and popcorn at the Bedrock drive-in with the classic movie “The Shaggy Dog.” There will be healthy pet-treat demos, a dog show, a best-dressed pet contest and a lookalike contest. Come join us for a howling good time.
June 13-15: It’s all About Dad!
A father-son fishing tournament starts us off, followed by horseshoes and a round of putt-putt. There will be breakfast both Saturday and Sunday and a potluck dinner Saturday night.
June 20-22: Lazy days of Summer
Pool games, watermelon-seed spitting, sack races and canoe races just get us started. Come see what else we have in store.
June 27-29: Amazing Race
We’ll start off with a barbecue Friday night followed by a movie with popcorn. Saturday the race is on for both kids and adults! Saturday evening it’s karaoke time.
July 4-6: July 4th Weekend
It’s all about the water this weekend. Boats of all kinds will be hitting the lake. Watch out for the return of our radio-controlled boat regatta. Rubber duckies will be racing once again and boats will parade on the big lake.
July 11-13: Flea Market
We’ll kick off with a Friday night barbecue followed by movie and popcorn. Saturday we’ll have a flea market, pool games, bingo and music at the pavilion.
July 18-20: Christmas in July
We’re all decked out for Christmas, except for the snow. We’ll be making decorations and cookies, trimming trees, having snowball fights and a nice Christmas dinner with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
July 25-27: NASCAR Weekend
Radio-controlled cars will dominate the basketball courts this weekend for our own Brickyard 400 time trials. We’ll have a walk-a-thon around the park with your favorite driver represented on your t-shirt. Prize goes to the first one over the finish line!
August 1-2: Luau at the Beach!
We’re roasting a pig on the spit for a Hawaiian luau. Get ready for beach volleyball, limbo contests, a wet t-shirt contest, golf cart parade and great food. Movie “Blue Hawaii” and popcorn on Friday at the Bedrock drive-in.
August 8-10: Remember the ‘60s
It’s peace and love this hippie weekend. We’ll be tie-dyeing t-shirts and making jewelry to wear to the dance on Saturday, featuring Backdraft.
August 15-17: Murder Mystery at the Deadwood Saloon
Try to guess who done it! Lots of toe toe tappin’ and foot stomping followed by our Mexican/chili cookoff.
August 22-24: Carnival at Mardi Gras
The carnival has come to town with rides for the kids and games for all. We’ll be cooking it up Cajun-style for some good eating. Cloggers will be on hand to show you their moves. A golf cart parade with Mardi Gras beads rolls in the afternoon.
August 29-September 1: Labor Day Weekend
We’ll start the weekend off with cheeseburgers and a movie and popcorn. The rest of the time will be packed with beach volleyball, games at the lake, garage sale bingo, horseshoe tourney, bike and golf cart parade with prizes and fishing with music under the stars.

Let us remember together the servicemen and women, past and present, who have sacrificed for our freedom. A grand steak dinner will fill your stomach and showcase the enduring American tradition.
June 13-15: It’s Your Birthday!
We will have cake and ice cream to celebrate June birthdays. Come on out to share stories and congratulations with friends old and new.
June 20- 22: Father’s Day
Come out for a day of fishing, lounging by the pool and scenic bike rides (off preserve). Barbecue ribs, foot-long hot dogs and one-pound burgers will satisfy your hearty appetite and keep you swinging (in the hammock or on the horseshoe courts).
July 4- 6: Fourth of July
Celebrate America! We will be showing our colors with all-American festivities. Join us for a fried chicken picnic and lots of fun!
July 11-13: Pioneer Days
Join us as we celebrate our frontier heritage and history. Come out and enjoy a blast from the past!

Don’t miss this traditional favorite as friends gather for a night of Hawaiian delights.

Lynchburg
April 25-27: Blooming Weekend
Help fill our flower boxes with a loving touch. We will have a hot dog roast, coffee and doughnut social, and Saturday night movie and popcorn. Come on down and see all the projects finished this winter and start getting your site ready for the season.
May 9-11: Mom’s Weekend
Join us while we give thanks to moms this weekend. Mom, bring the whole family to fill up on marshmallows at our marshmallow roast, relax with our movie and popcorn, and just sit back and enjoy your kids serving you at our tea and cheese social.
May 23-26: Memorial Day Weekend
We will have water aerobics, a balloon toss, canoe races, sand castle building and fun times galore! Steak dinner Saturday night with dancing and fun to follow. Pool party blast, ice cream socials, root beer floats, crafts, games and more!
June 13-15: Movie Mania Weekend
Movies all weekend plus root beer floats, ice cream sundaes, tea and cheese social, miniature-golf tourney, Mexican dinner and crafts.
July 4-6: Star-Spangled Blast
We will have Saturday entertainment and a delicious steak dinner, Sunday pool party, bingo, marshmallow roast, crafts, ice cream social and more. Come on down and enjoy the fun!
July 18-20: Fishy Weekend
Fishing tournament (catch and release), fish fry dinner, horseshoe tournament (at our updated pits), crafts, movie, water aerobics, bingo, and coffee and doughnut social.
August 1-3: Flea Market and Crafts Weekend
Bring out all those goodies you want to sell and pick up some new stuff. We will have a tea and cheese social, spaghetti dinner, bingo, water-balloon toss, seed-spitting contest and ice cream socials.
August 15-17: Bingo Mania
Bingo, bingo and more bingo all weekend long. Add in a coffee and doughnut social, movies, pool games and a potluck, and you are sure to have a fun-filled weekend.
August 29-September 1: Labor Day Celebration
We’ll have a steak dinner, entertainment, a pool party, a weenie-roast, canoe races, pool games, volleyball tournament, ice cream socials and lots of bingo.
September 19-21: Fall Jamboree
Go see the fall festivals in Lynchburg and enjoy quiet times at the park. We will have crafts, a coffee and doughnut social, bingo, nature walks, a movie and campfire songs.
October 3-5: Chili Cookoff and Halloween Decorating
Bring your best recipes and come on down. Evening potluck to follow the chili judging, then a marshmallow roast and an evening movie.
October 24-26: Happy Halloween
Join us for our member-sponsored Halloween weekend of fun and games. There will be costume judging, a pumpkin-carving contest, trick-or-treating, games, potluck and a scary movie.

We are bringing Vegas to you! Join us for an adults-only blackjack poker clinic and family bingo.

August 8-10: Pickleball Weekend
Take part in our fun tournament for experienced players, or learn how to play in a pickleball clinic. Players from all over the country will be here to promote this family-friendly sport.
August 15-17: 6 Annual Potluck Cookoff
Compete for big prizes in five categories: salads, casseroles, vegetables, desserts and “other.”
August 22-24: Wild Wild West
Don’t forget to wear your cowboy hat and boots. We’ll be calf roping (pretend), and have a family horseshoe tourney and cowboy hat-and-boot-tossing contest. Every cowboy and cowgirl will have a roping good time!
August 29-September 1: Labor Day Weekend
Super back-to-school kids’ craft, barbecue potluck picnic and a grand pickleball tourney are just some of the things to look forward to on this fun-filled weekend.

May 9-11: Mother Knows Best
Do you really know your mom? Does she know you? Test your knowledge during our hilarious rendition of the Newlywed game. Show your mom that you care by making her something she will really appreciate during crafts. Mom and kid lookalike contest and mothers vs. kids volleyball tournament.
May 23-26: Red, White and Blue
Decorate your bikes and golf carts for our Memorial Day parade. Join in the fun at our pool party and ice cream social, and show your stuff during our goofy lawn games for all ages.
May 30-June 1: Pick a Card, Any Card
Play Texas hold ‘em, euchre and more! Meet new and old members while you learn how to play a new game, and don’t forget to bring your favorites to teach other campers. Join us for a coffee and cookie social and try your luck during a poker run!
June 6-8: Bark and Meow-a-Thon
Bring your furry friends this weekend and participate in our fun pet-and-owner lookalike contest, pet fashion show and doggy social. Show off during the silly pet tricks, ugliest and cutest-pet contest.
June 13-15: Go Bananas
The kids are out of school and it’s time to celebrate! Banana relay races, banana-peeling contest, banana split social, ice cream-eating contest and more! We will caravan to town for the Banana Split Festival. Treat your dad to a movie and popcorn at our movie night.
June 20-22: It’s All About Dads!
Kids, cheer Dad on during the horseshoe tourney and play him in a game of kids vs. dads putt-putt golf. Dads, enjoy a great weekend of fishing with the kids and share your best tall tale at the marshmallow roast.
June 27-29: Swept Away
Sail on over for a swashbuckling-good time! Best-dressed pirate contest, treasure hunt, diving for gold and best-made Jolly Roger flag contest.
July 4-6: Fourth of July
Decorate your site and then head over to the pool for our barbecue party. Fun and games all weekend long!
July 11-13: Wet ‘n’ Wild
Bring your squirt guns for our wild water war. We have a ton of water and swimming pool games planned including water volleyball and a water balloon toss.
July 18-20: Western Days
Howdy, partners! Dress in your best western getup and learn how to line dance. We’ll have a yodeling contest, cow-chip throwing, roping contest, watermelon-seed spittin’ and more!
July 25-27: Christmas in July
Show your holiday spirit during the site-decoration contest, Christmas caroling and present-wrapping contest. If you have been nice, Santa may visit the park! Bring a $5 wrapped gift for the white elephant Christmas bingo game that is sure to be a blast!
August 1-3: Back to the Past
Pack your poodle skirts and bell bottoms and relive the ’50s and ‘60s in style. Test your memory during trivia and participate in all those fun childhood games. Show your kids how to sock hop and treat yourself to some delicious root beer floats!
August 8-10: That’s Sporting of You
A little friendly competition never hurts! Bring your friends and work as a team to win the Wilmington Olympics! Volleyball, basketball shootout, obstacle courses, pingpong, corn hole, pool races and more!
August 15-17: Look at Nature
Take a hike on our nature trail and learn about the Club Blazer Trail Team. Go on a scavenger and bug hunt and find neat rocks to paint for our rock garden. See who can catch the biggest fish during our fishing derby. Eat s’mores around the campfire and share spooky stories.
August 22-24: Kids will be Kids
Celebrate the last weekend before school starts! Mini-golf tourney, kickball, basketball, teen pool party, scavenger hunts, campfires and water games all weekend long.
August 29-September 1: Labor Day
Let’s end the summer with a splash! Laze in the pool during our “dive-in” movie and join us for banana splits. Have fun at the obstacle courses and lawn games and play water volleyball with your friends. Show your best or worst dance moves at the DJ dance party.
October 17-19: Howl-O-Scream
Join us for our last spooky weekend of the season. Pick out your favorite pumpkin for the carving contest, take a spin on the hayride and satisfy your sweet tooth with trick-or-treating. |
