March 28-30: Whistling Wind Weekend
Come fly away to Bay Landing with the March winds in the air. Paper airplanes will be soaring and dodging the kites. Duck! Here comes a Frisbee! In the distance you might even hear a tune being whistled during a contest. This is a new one for us and we would love to share the soothing sounds of the winds with you. Watch balloons take off and hear the laughter of the day’s events while eating the winged “barbecue bird” plate that Sharon has fixed for us.
April 4-6: Fool Fun Weekend
April Fool! This is a day filled with jokes for all ages, so be on guard and on your toes for a fun-filled day! Pet Show, sack races canoe races and eightball are all on the schedule. Sharon might even have a prize hidden in your food!
April 11-13: Grubby Garb Days
Take a day off and put on your grubby clothes! Stroll around the park with your pet dressed as badly as you are. You and your pet might even win a prize! Friday night there will be fish frying and sloppy joes on Saturday. You might even want to participate in the radical bike race, or even grub for items in the treasure hunt.
April 18-20: Beautify Bay Landing
This is a day when members can work right beside the employees as we get our hands dirty together! We’ll plant flowers and trees—whatever we need to do! And we’ll reward you with a spaghetti lunch for helping us get Bay Landing beautified. Come join the fun!
April 25-27: Rodeo Play Days
Yee haw, this is one you won’t want to miss! All you campers that’s a passin’ through, come on down and toss a cow chip, chug a little root beer and join in our Little Buckaroo event. And as always, we’ll have a nice quiet hayride and vittles from our chuck wagon to satisfy you all!
May 2-4:Cinco de Mayo
Join in on our Mexico fiesta weekend, wear your best Mexican hat, or we’ll make one for you at craft time, piñata whacking, jalapeno eating contest, Sharon’s snack bar will whip up some good enchiladas with her full blown Mexican Dinner Special.
May 9-11: Pamper Moms Day
All you moms out there just kick off your shoes and let Bay Landing spoil you on Mom’s Day. How about a pedicure, a manicure and a facial to start off your day? And you can throw your apron away and let us do the cooking. Kids, we’ll help out with the present for your mom with a craft that she will treasure. And moms, on Sunday you get a free breakfast, plus a little something from the staff.
May 16-18: Western Hoedown
Hold onto your bootstraps and tighten your belts—you’re in for a ride this weekend! From cow-chip toss to obstacle course, tug of war and much more. Sharon will even have some barbecue for you!
May 23-26: Memorial Day Celebration
Raise your flags, it’s red, white, and blue time, and we do know how to wave them here at Bay Landing! Decorate your cabins and rigs… make sure you know where the clubhouse is, because you’ll get wet, egged, stuffed with bananas and barbecued, and we’ll have games and contests galore! The music at Beachview will be under the stars, with no other than T-Bone Road!
May 30-June 1: NFL Weekend
Even though it is too early to think football, everyone has a favorite team, so we’re having a fun-filled weekend. Wear the t-shirt, jersey or colors of your favorite team and watch the rivalry begin! Flag football, best kicker, best pass, worst pass, and we’ll even munch out on hot dogs and suds (root beer)!
June 6-8: Summer at Last
This weekend is a full of races in and out of the water. Practice up on your canoeing (weather permitting), the ride is only for the tough! After we are worn out from this we can relax and have a checkers tourney!
June 13-15: Dad’s Day
That’s right, Dad, it’s your day at Bay Landing! How about a fishing tournament to start off? Kick back and fish all day if you wish, but you might want to get in on the football toss and casting contest, and even a game of pool with cash prizes awarded. Kids, there will be a craft for you to make your dad a present one that he will treasure. And on Sunday dads eat a free pancake breakfast. Sharon will be fixing a man’s meal, with chicken fried steak and all the trimmings.
June 20-22: It’s a Bug’s Life
We’ll start off with a bug tasting contest. That’s right—crispy, crunchy, slimy and juicy. If you are still with us after that we’ll have a critter race, creepy crawler race, grasshopper hop, and the largest bug contest. And then we’ll enjoy a game of butterfly basketball. Maybe even watch “Antz” and “It’s a Bugs Life.” Sharon’s special dinner may crawl right off your plate!
June 27-29: Great Outdoors Weekend
Nothing like good old family fun outside in the hot June sun. Come spend the day with us fishing, canoeing, pitching horseshoes, and much more. We’ll even throw in a hayride or two!
July 4-6: July Fourth Celebration
It’s time to be patriotic, and Bay Landing wants you! Decorate your bikes and golf carts, anything you may have to ride (all ages) and we supply the red, white, and blue. Let the games begin! All the games will leave you soaked, yoked, and smelling like a banana! Step in line for the barbecue, dance under the stars with T-Bone Road and watch the spectacular fireworks explode in the sky. Notice: This year the fireworks are on Friday and the dance Saturday!
July 11-13: Wine and Cheese/Hot Tub Party
Start the day off with Sharon’s breakfast, the snack bar will be open all day with a dinner special on Saturday. While the adults are enjoying the hot tub/wine and cheese party, the kids will be entertained with races in the pool. This is always a big night!
July 18-20: Back to the ’50s & ’60s
Let’s get into the groove! Happy Days return to Bay Landing, so put on your poodle skirts and grease your hair down for a rock ’n’ roll day and night! Hula Hoop contest, bubble gum blowing, Cherry Coke chugging, croquet hamburger baskets, fries and root beer floats. Sharon’s snack bar will provide a Laverne & Shirley dinner special!
July 25-27: Beach Bum Days
Kick off your shoes and feel the sand between your toes while you’re building your sand castles and launching your cardboard boat at the beach for the regatta. Try out your serves at the volleyball game, and don’t forget your bikini and sunscreen—all activities will be a scorcher. Don’t be bummed if the special on the menu is fixed on the beach.
August 1-3: Sin City Weekend/Las Vegas Connections
It’s a gambling kind of day and night, all for fun and fake money! Win big and spend your fake money at the end of the night on great prizes! We’ll have blackjack, craps, roulette and slots, even a poker run throughout the day. Good Luck!
August 8-10: Safari Weekend
Hop aboard Bay Landing’s safari wagon, where the adventure to the jungle begins! See how many jungle animals you can find and pick up to keep. There could be a monkey in a tree or a snake on the ground, and watch out for the lions and tigers. Don’t forget to enter the “Tarzan yell” contest. You can even make a mold of the prints you find on the park, maybe even a bobcat’s!
August 15-17: Too Hot To Handle
Run for the water, because it’s too hot not to. Learn water aerobics and get into shape for the bike, run and swim race that’s a blast. And speaking of hot, how many of those “hot fries” can you choke down? It’s a skill to outdo the jalapeno eaters here; can you eat 24 or more? Sharon says she’ll have something good boiling up in her pot.
August 22-24: Back to School Days
Even though school has started, bring the kids back to Bay Landing. We’ll have games and contests that will make them think it’s still summer. Pingpong, basketball, a weenie roast at the pits, a pool tourney . . . all the things they love to do!
August 29-September 1: Hawaiian Luau
Aloha! It’s island time in the Texas heat! Hula skirts will be rolling off the tables just as fast as we can make them, along with the leis that will be made special by your own hands. It will be a day filled with that “island magic.” Even a roasted pig from the guys on the park makes its grand entrance, right before the feast that Sharon has prepared for all us islanders too enjoy. And then the volcano erupts as T-Bone Road takes center stage at the Beachview pavilion under our own island stars.
September 5-7: Fear Factor Weekend
Come join us and see how fearless you are! Here’s a little hint—you’ll be falling, blindfolded, eating, tasting and maybe even slurping. It sounds like a blast and it’s sure to be a hit!
September 12-14: Survival Weekend
Teams will have to overcome challenges, so see how well you can work together as a team and win the great prizes at the end of your journey!
September 19-21: Ssizzlin Sseptember
Hear the sssounds of the bacon sssizzlin’ in the pan to start the day off right. The sssun will lead us to water so we can canoe our way across the lake. And just like a sssnake we’ll ssslide over to the big pot of ssstew before we start off with the sssilly, sssensational, round of games in ssstore for you. Sssee ya!
September 26-28: Puzzle Mania
Spend a day winding down from the summer heat and cool off with the indoor and outdoor games! We will have all kinds of puzzle contests; see if you can finish first with all puzzles correct. Should be a brain-teaser weekend!
October 3-5: It’s Chili Cookoff Time
Brrrr, it’s starting too get cold outside, and what better way to meet new friends and members than over steaming pots of chili? Members will be the judges. Competition has always been great here at our park and great prizes are awarded! We had 11 pots last year and we hope to have a bigger crowd this year!
October 10-12: Fall Fun
Time to start thinking of the holidays, so we’ll have a contest and holiday crafts. Come get some great ideas!
October 17-19: Fall Festive Weekend
Come enjoy a craft/lunch day with the staff and members and help out with the preparations for the kids’ Halloween party.
October 24-27: Halloween Costume Party
Boo! Don’t let the ghosts and goblins scare you off the park, it’s just us making this a Halloween you’ll never forget. The witches’ brew and the balloon stomp are just a few of the games we’ll be playing, and bobbin’ for apples is a sure thing. Don’t be late, because we’ll have lots of cupcakes, candy and prizes for the kids!

March 29: Trail Dust Weekend
Barbecue cookoff and bean contest, also western crafts, horse races on hay bales, horseshoes. Judges needed, please sign up in the activity center. Sam Hartsell will entertain us.
April 5: Rock the Socks Off/ Birthday Party
Come celebrate April birthdays and play games, balloon pop and Hula Hoop contest. We’ll design and paint rocks, bring your favorite rock. Also a weird sock contest with sock decorating and a sock hop with DJ Roger Loving.
April 12: Scrappy Happy
Scrapbooking, crafts with scraps, scrappy dressers contest (look your worst), bring scraps to the activity center to trade. Flea market and trade days.
April 19: Cajun Fest
A fun-filled day with crawfish races and games on the patio. Enjoy crawfish, boudin, corn on the cob and potatoes. In the evening, join in on the patio for a night filled with the best Cajun band around. “ Bourbon Street “ will be here.
April 26: Kids’ Fishing Tournament
Pond fishing for kids with prizes awarded for the most fish, ugliest fish, biggest and smallest fish. Fish coloring-page craft, indoor fishing and a movie night.
May 3: Hot Tamale/ Cinco de Mayo
and Birthday Bash
Taco making, bean contest and Mexican dishes contest, tortilla tossing contest and Mexican hat dance. Bean bag throwing. Pinto bean bingo. Birthday cake and party in the activity center.
May 10: Happy Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day tea, mothers’ and children’s trivia game, Mom’s night out (babysitters available in family center with movie for kids). Games in the activity center, please sign up there.
May 17: Cruise Line Bingo and Games
All ages join in on the fun with games all day long, including a bingo marathon and an X-Box tournament for anyone brave enough to take on the teens. Volleyball at the lake and a basketball tournament with the staff.
May 24: Memorial Day Celebration
Apple bobbing, kids’ tattooing, moonwalk, water volleyball, Memorial Day crafts and, last but not least, Gary Hale and his band Diverzion will provide the best entertainment you could ask for. Join us for the evening and wear your dancing shoes.
May 31: Hot Summer Kickoff
Outdoor games, volleyball at the lake, flag football, pickleball, hot dogs on the patio with corn on the cob, and to cool you off, slushies or snow cones. Cool off in the evening inside and play brown bag bingo ($3 gift, please).
June 7: Hawaiian Luau
Join us for watermelon-eating, Hula Hoop and limbo contests. Dinner will be a true luau feast and entertainment will be provided by the ever-popular Leialoha’s Hula Company. Great entertainment includes a child dancer, along with hula and fire dancers. This is a show you do not want to miss.
June 9-13: Summer Camp
Camp is for kids ages 5 to 11. A week full of fun thing for the kids, with different activities daily!
June 14: Dad’s Day Off
Dad, this is your day! Calling all dads to come to the activity center to show those legs in our best-legs contest. Kids, there will be crafts for you to make Dad a gift. We’ll have a football toss, and a pool tournament, and Vegas Connection will be here for casino night.
June 21: Start Your Engines!
Remote control cars and boat races, blind golf-cart races and a build-a-car craft.
June 23-27 Summer Camp

June 28: July Fourth Celebration
Patriotic golf cart and bike parade, family softball game, patriotic crafts, coloring contest, volleyball at the lake, kids’ tattoos, root beer chugging, pony rides and a moonwalk. Silverado Band will be here.
July 5: Wet ’n’ Wild Weekend
Let the games begin! All games will leave you soaked, so bring your water guns. We’ll also play water volleyball.

July 12: Hot Wheels
Bring your radio-controlled cars to the activity center to race, where prizes will be awarded to the fastest. Join in the fun with a blind golf-cart race.

Sign up in the activity center to play and let’s see which family is the winner. Find out what kind of trip your family will be going on. Win the house of your dream or that SUV you’ve been longing for. Hayden Braun the pianist entertains tonight.

July 28: Dog Days of Summer
Bring your dog to show off! We’ll have a hot-dog eating contest, wiener roast, dog howling contest and a kids’ show. Join us for a movie and popcorn in the activity center.

All games today will be played wacky. Weird and wacky dress contest, balloon stomp and backwards relay races. Join us for August Birthdays with cake.
August 9: Reunion Weekend
Bring all your old photos of TT friends and places you visited. Get reacquainted at an afternoon social with games, games, games.
August 16: Surf’s Up!
Wear a beach shirt, lets play water volleyball at a beach (pool party) and have hot dogs at the pool.
August 23: Fruity Weekend
Bring your ice cream freezers and let’s make fruity ice cream. Also we’ll have fruit bingo, apple bobbing, pie-baking and Jell-O eating contests, and fruit relay races.
August 30: Labor Day Weekend
Decorate your bike and golf carts for the parade, and kids can see how high you can jump in the moonwalk. Weather permitting, the ponies will be here. Join us for crafts, candy bar bingo, volleyball at the lake and much more. Live entertainment Bourbon Street will be here.
September 6: Brown Bag Bingo!/ Happy September Birthdays
Join us for a day full of fun! Bingo for all ages with free cards. Bring a prize valued at $3 in a brown bag. Grandparents Day celebration.
September 13: Game Mania
This is the day you don’t want to miss! Today is full of fun and games such as Lucky 13, farkel, right-left-center, and fruit bingo. Entertainer Hayden Braun.
September 20: Parade of Pets
Let’s parade the pets today. Prizes will be awarded for the cutest, largest, smallest, most tricks, best dressed, and most owner-look-alike.
September 27: Horse Play
Put on your western attire, and join in the best-dressed contest. Try your hand in horseshoes and the horse race. The whole family will enjoy cowboy-type competitions. Rope your favorite cowboys and arrest them.
October 4: Hobo Weekend and Happy October Birthdays
Dress down for the fun! Hobo dress contest, sing along by the campfire with a marshmallow roast, and later feast on birthday cake. Tonight we’ll fix hobo soup, so bring a can of something good to put in the pot.
October 11: Hot and Spicy Chili Cookoff
t’s chili cookoff time! This is the day to get out the pots and fix your favorite chili recipe. You’ll want everyone to taste your wonderful creation, so be sure to make enough to share. Fall crafts.
October 18: Octoberfest
We’re celebrating one of the oldest cultural traditions around with apple bobbing, pie-throwing, a sausage-on-a-string eating contest and root beer chugging contest, along with other games in the activity center throughout the day.
October 25: Monster Bash
If you dare to be here for Halloween, we have lots of fun in store for you with a pumpkin painting contest, trick-or-treat hayride, kids’ tattoos, apple bobbing, and an adults’, kids’ and pet costume contest. Halloween’s not complete without a haunted house, so if you’re not too scared, be here at Lake Conroe, this is a great weekend for the whole family!
November 1: Games, Games, and More
Games/Happy November Birthdays
Bring your favorite game and enjoy an evening full of fun. We’ll also play a game of fruit bingo and enjoy birthday cake. Club Blazer celebration and XBox tournament.
November 8: A Salute to Veterans
We’ll honor all those who have served our country. Free root beer floats for veterans, Veterans Day crafts and a game of family washers are just a few fun activities we have planned. Flag retirement at the firepit, entertainment on Saturday night.
November 15: Welcome Back, Winter Texans
Let’s play Lucky 13, candy bar bingo, and a game of. right-left-center. Enjoy DJ music in the activity center.
November 20: Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving! We’re serving turkey, dressing, gravy, rolls and a drink for dinner at 1 p.m. You bring a side dish and a dessert for your group and six other to share, and we’ll all be thankful. Oh, don’t forget your utensils!
November 22: Holiday Craft Making
Gather with us at the activity center for holiday crafts, root beer floats. turkey bowl, candy bowl bingo and a game of family washers. Movie in the activity center with hot chocolate and popcorn.
November 29: Christmas Bingo
Let’s make Christmas ornaments then join us to decorate the Christmas tree. Afterwards, the fun will continue with bingo. Lodge cooking-demonstration on the patio. Cookie exchange, bring your favorite cookie and the recipe. Crafts in the activity center will be holiday cookie cans made with coffee cans, so save cans with lids.
December 6: Christmas For Kids
Santa’s stopping by early this year for a party and pictures. We’ll also have holiday crafts and hot chocolate, and don’t forget to decorate for the golf cart parade. Prizes will be awarded. For dinner we’re serving turkey, dressing, gravy, rolls and a drink. Bring a side dish and dessert, enough for your group plus six others to share.
December 13: Country Christmas
Join us for holiday crafts, hot apple cider, hot chocolate and cookies, games in the activity center, adult pool tournament, and Christmas movie.
December 20: Winter Wonderland
Bundle up as we go on a Christmas caroling hayride through the park. Afterward we’ll have hot chocolate with marshmallows and Christmas cookies. Super bingo Saturday night.
December 27: A Year to Remember
Regale us with your 2008 stories as we enjoy music and snacks. We’ll be decorating for the New Year’s Eve party, too, along with crafts in the activity center, hats and table decor.
December 31: New Year’s Eve Party
Ring in 2009 here at Lake Conroe. Look what’s for dinner—prime rib, baked potato, salad, dessert and drink. We’ll have live entertainment, so bring your favorite snacks and let’s party! We’re serving black-eyed peas at midnight, honoring a Texas tradition.

March 29-30: Hobo Weekend
Dress up like a hobo for our annual “grubby hobo contest.” Costumes will be judged at the manager’s meeting. Win a prize for best costume and don’t forget to bring a can of vegetables for our hobo stew dinner. Welcome back J&K Entertainment for karaoke fun for the whole family.
April 5-6: Daylight Saving Time
Don’t forget to spring your clocks forward this weekend. Flowers are in bloom and Lake Whitney is beautiful this time of year. Join us tonight to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries, followed by family bingo in the activity center.
April 12-13: High Rollers
Saturday, join others and play blackjack, pokeno or Texas hold ’em at the adult center. After dinner at the Fillin’ Station come on over to the family center for Mexican Train. Kids can have fun with movies on the big screen TV. Popcorn and snacks provided.
April 19-20: Bluebonnet Weekend
Bring your camera, walk the nature trails and capture our beautiful array of bluebonnets here at the preserve. We will have crafts for children and adults. Join us for dinner at the Fillin’ Station.
April 26-27: Car Wash
Club Blazer kids will host a car wash on Saturday. All money raised will be donated to Christmas for Kids. We will need volunteers, cars and trucks. Come on out and have some fun! Join us for dinner at the Fillin’ Station, followed by entertainment.
May 3-4: Camel Weekend
Join Club Blazer and welcome back the Texas Camel Corps. Visit, groom and learn all about camels. Don’t forget our ice cream social in the afternoon. Dinner will be at the Fillin’ Station, followed by May birthdays and anniversaries, then stick around for family bingo.
May 10-11: Mother’s Day Weekend
This is Mom’s special weekend, and all activities are centered on her. We will host an afternoon tea party for all moms and moms-to-be. Don’t forget about the free breakfast for Mom at the Fillin’ Station Sunday morning.
May 17-18: Outside Fun Weekend
Join us for horseshoes or mini golf. Hike the trails or ride a bike. Decorate your bike and we will have a contest. Best-dressed bike wins a prize. Join us for our ice cream social in the afternoon, and Lizette will make her famous rib-eye steak dinner tonight at the Fillin’ Station, followed by a Frisbee contest.
May 24-26: Memorial Day Weekend
Marty’s will have hot dogs and s’mores Friday night at the Fillin’ Station. Dress in your best patriotic clothes at our manager’s meeting on Saturday and win a prize! Stick around for family bingo. We will be serving breakfast Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. Dinner will be served Saturday and Sunday evening. We will also have an ice cream social Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There will be a church service Sunday morning at the adult center. Sunday evening we will have a cookie social at the Fillin’ Station. Bring your best cookies to share with others.
May 31: Scavenger’s Hunt
We will have a scavenger hunt on Saturday followed by dinner at the Fillin’ Station. Stick around for some karaoke fun with K&J Entertainment in the activity center.
June 7-8: Summer Bash Weekend
We will have the log roll in the family pool on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Join us for dinner followed by June birthdays and anniversaries at the Fillin’ Station. After dinner, stick around for family bingo!
June 14-15: Father’s Day Weekend
This weekend we honor the special men in our lives. We will host a dads-only root beer chugging contest Saturday afternoon. Join us for dinner at the Fillin’ Station. Get your dancing shoes on and welcome back the Miss Polly Band. Don’t forget, dads get a free breakfast Sunday morning!
June 20-21: Teen Weekend
Friday evening join Marty for hot dogs and s’mores. We will have the log roll Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the family pool. After dinner, teens will have an evening of fun with J&K Entertainment karaoke followed by a late-night swim.
June 28-29: Mexican Train Weekend
Start your day with breakfast at the Fillin’ Station but save room for the ice cream social in the afternoon. After dinner join us for Mexican Train till you drop! Join others or bring your own game of Mexican Train to the family center for an evening of fun. “Choo Choo” coffee and cookies will be served.
July 4-6: Fourth of July Celebration
Join Marty Friday night for hot dogs and s’mores followed by our Annual Fourth of July Spectacular! On Saturday we will have Club Blazer and a best-decorated campsite contest. Sign up at the family center and win a prize! Our favorite water slide, the “Drop Zone,” will be here Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and we’ll have an ice cream social Saturday and Sunday. Join us for dinner Saturday evening at the Fillin’ Station, followed by July birthdays and anniversaries. We will also have family bingo, then on Sunday evening we will have J&K Entertainment for karaoke fun!
July 12-13: Golf Cart Weekend
Decorate your golf cart and join the golf cart parade. Prize for Best in Show! Sign up at the family center. Come to the Fillin’ Station for Lizette’s famous rib-eye dinner cooked to order. Join others at the family center for an evening of “potluck” card games, dominoes or Mexican train. Bring a dessert to share with others. Coffee will be served.
July 19-20: Western Weekend
On Saturday enter our “Boot Toss” competition. Fun for all ages! Grab those boots and join us for dinner at the Fillin’ Station, followed by s’mores at the firepit after dark.
July 26-27: Blackjack Night
After a hearty breakfast at the Fillin’ Station, join others or start your own games and have some outdoor fun. We’ll have mini golf, volleyball, swimming, tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard and horseshoes. Club Blazer will have a Mini Putt contest with prizes for first, second and third place. Welcome back “Vegas Connection” and join us for blackjack in the activity center. Movies will be shown on the big screen in the family center for children. Snacks provided.
August 2-3: Friendship Weekend
Bring friends and family for dinner at the Fillin’ Station followed by August birthdays and anniversaries. Stick around for family bingo. Sunday is Friendship Day, so start your day with breakfast at the Fillin’ Station. We’ll have a church service at the adult center.
August 9-10: Hawaiian Luau
Join our tropical island at Lake Whitney for our annual Hawaiian luau. We will have lei making. Find the hidden pineapples and help us make fruit baskets. We will be serving a Hawaiian dinner at the Fillin’ Station, followed by the Kahanu Family Dancers.
August 16-17: Back to School
Join Marty for hot dogs and s’mores Friday evening. We will have kids’ activities on Saturday starting with Club Blazer in the morning followed by a game of mini golf. Sundaes will be served at the ice cream social, then join us in the family pool for the log roll. Come on down to the Fillin’ Station for dinner, then make your way over to the bonfire pit after dark to roast marshmallows.
August 23-24: Parade of Dogs
Bring your pups this weekend! Dress up your pooch and join our pet parade in front of the family center. Prizes for best dressed, smallest, biggest and the Marty and Lizette look-alike pooches! We will also have a doggy Frisbee toss. Join us for dinner at the Fillin’ Station followed by Todd McKinney, comedy magician. This will be his sixth year here at Lake Whitney.
August 30-September 1: Labor Day Festivities
Come on out and help us celebrate the end of summer. Start your weekend off Friday night at the Fillin’ Station with hot dogs and s’mores. Start your Saturday, Sunday and Monday with breakfast. Also on Saturday, Sunday and Monday we will have the “Drop Zone” water slide. Club Blazer will have a scavenger hunt Saturday morning, and dinners are available Saturday and Sunday evenings at the Fillin’ Station. We will have our ice cream social Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Join us for two nights of family bingo!

March 29: Flea Market Weekend
Let’s all get together under the Pavilion for the first “Open Flea Market” of the year. After that let’s stick around for wacky golf and other games.
April 5: Spring Fling
We’ll start the day in the Pavilion with seed spitting, frozen t-shirt contest and sack races. Afterward, join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, and ice cream and cake in the afternoon to celebrate all April birthdays and anniversaries. In the evening we’ll pop in a movie and pass around the popcorn.
April 12: Tournament Day
A full day of tournament fun. Shuffleboard, horseshoes, mini golf, tetherball and more. An awards ceremony will be held that evening for the winners.
April 19: Fiesta in San Antonio
Head to San Antonio to enjoy the 10 days of Fiesta. We’ll celebrate at the preserve with piñatas, games and a Mexican dinner.
April 26: Earth Day Weekend
We’ll gather at the activity center for a nature walk in the morning. Afterward the kids will compete in a variety of “Earth Day”-type activities.
May 3: Cinco de Mayo
Join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, ice cream and cake to celebrate all May birthdays and anniversaries. Visit San Antonio for some of their traditional events of this holiday, or stay here and join us for piñatas and other games.
May 10: Mother’s Day Weekend
Daughters, bring Mom to the activity center for a tea party on Saturday. All kids can participate in making a special Mother’s Day craft. There will be a bunco tournament and a special bingo day. Then in the evening, dads will bring moms to the dance. On Sunday Mom will eat free at the Top of the Trail Cafe when Dad and the kids come in for breakfast. All moms coming in will get a raffle ticket for a $50 gift card to CutaWays in Lakehills.
May 17: How About We Rest & Prepare Weekend
Let’s all take a “time out” and prepare for the upcoming first big weekend of the season. Do come by the activity center, though, for any unannounced events for the day and to help in preparations for Memorial Day Weekend. Kids will meet to prepare for May 31 and the Kids-in-Charge Weekend.
May 24: Memorial Day Weekend
Come and join us for a long weekend of activities. Saturday, it will be wacky golf, hayrides, banana splits, frozen t-shirt, seed spitting, lawn games and party trays in the evening. On Sunday we’ll have a dance in the Pavilion with a barbecue dinner. Top of the Trail Cafe will be open for breakfast on Monday morning.
May 31: Kids-in-Charge” Weekend
This weekend belongs to the kids. All activities have been planned and will be conducted by the kids.
June 7: Barbecue and Chili Cookoff
Join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, and ice cream and cake to celebrate all June birthdays and anniversaries. Bring your favorite barbecue recipe to the activity center to participate in our annual cookoff. In the evening we’ll have a movie and pass around the popcorn.
June 14: Father’s Day Weekend
Let’s make it a family tournament day with a great assortment of games. We’ll have an awards ceremony later in the day and present prizes and trophies to all the winners. On Sunday morning, Dad eats free at the Top of the Trail Cafe when Mom and the kids buy breakfast. Stick around, dads; tickets will be given out to those coming in for a chance to win a $50 Home Depot gift card.
June 21: Summer Starter
We’ll start the day with a bike parade, then join us at the swimming pool for games and a poolside cookout. Return to the activity center for volleyball, tetherball, three-legged races and more.
June 28: Super Bingo Weekend
Brown bag bingo, candy bar bingo and super bingo Saturday night. Free cards - Great prizes. Adults on the main floor, and kids in the adult room. And in between all this bingo watch for unannounced games throughout the day.
July 5: Independence Day Celebration
Join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, ice cream and cake to celebrate all July birthdays and anniversaries. Join us also for a bike and pet parade, banana splits, lawn games, barbecue dinner and a dance.
July 12: Wild West Weekend
There will be games on the lawn during the day. During the day there will be pig races, horse races and much more. In the evening, the saloon will open for blackjack and poker for the adults and kids-only bingo.
July 19: Christmas For Children and Sports Trivia/Memorabilia Day
Bring your sports trading cards and memorabilia to our “Buy, Sell or Trade” Day, or just show them off. We’ll have sports trivia competitions for kids, adults and families during the day. Saturday night we’ll have our second auction of the year with all proceeds going to the Christmas for Children fund. The Top of the Trail Cafe will put on a nice dinner before the auction, so be sure to stick around.
July 26: Survivor Weekend
Two teams will compete in challenging tasks and assignments during the day and then finish off with a scavenger hunt. All participants will receive rewards at the end of the day.
August 2: Member Appreciation Day
Join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, ice cream and cake to celebrate all August birthdays and anniversaries. Members can enjoy great deals in the Trading Post and Cafe, a free movie and bike rentals, and win “Medina Bucks” for the Trading Post.
August 9: Luau/Island Day
We are going native! Pull out the grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts and join us for island games, native costume contests, volleyball tournaments, a luau buffet dinner and Hawaiian dancers in the evening.
August 16: Back to School
The kids will have a pool tournament, mini-golf tournament, “school supply” candy game, a special back-to-school craft. We’ll finish the day with kids-only bingo with $10 WalMart gift cards as prizes.
August 23: Parade of Pets
You’ll start the day with a pet parade in the morning. After lunch we will have a pet “birthday party” followed by a pet contest, judged independently by our younger set. In the evening come back to the activity center and join in on pet bingo.
August 30: Labor Day/Carnival Weekend
Come out for a bike and pet parade, hayrides in the morning and banana splits in the afternoon. The carnival will have game booths, food booths, a moon walk and more. We’ll finish off Saturday with the Medina Prize Game. Don’t go home Sunday morning, because we’ll be having a barbecue dinner and a dance in the Pavilion that evening. The Top of the Trail Cafe will open for breakfast on Monday morning.
September 6: Grandparents Day Weekend
Join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, ice cream and cake to celebrate all September birthdays and anniversaries. Bring the grandparents out for good old family (my granddad can beat your granddad) competitions. In the evening we’ll pop in a movie and pass around the popcorn.
September 13: Puzzle Mania
Come join us for more puzzles than you can imagine. We’ll have individual and family competitions with jigsaw puzzles, mazes, crosswords and much more.
September 20: Member Challenge Day
Let’s all try our hand at pickleball, volleyball, tetherball and other “ball” games. All challenges will be met. After that we’ll slow down a little with a mini-golf tournament. In the evening we’ll stay indoors for card and board game challenges.
September 27: Scavenger Weekend
We’ll have a scavenger hunt starting Saturday morning with prizes for the winners. With everybody out scavenging, let’s have a preserve-wide yard sale through Sunday afternoon. In the evening, we’ll have a relaxing time with a movie and popcorn.
October 4: Oktoberfest
Join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, and ice cream and cake to celebrate all October birthdays and anniversaries. There will be root beer chugging, pie eating and more. The Top of the Trail will put on a special German dinner.
October 11: Kids-in-Charge Weekend
This weekend all activities have been planned and will be conducted by the kids.
October 18: Flea Market Weekend
Let’s all get together under the Pavilion for the second Open Flea Market of the year. While the parents are selling off their treasures we’ll put the kids through lawn game challenges. In the evening, we’ll all settle down for a good game/social night.
October 25: Halloween Weekend
Come out for pumpkin carving, piñatas, trick or treat hayride, costume contests, the Haunted Trail and a Halloween dance.
November 1: Western Dress Days
Join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, ice cream and cake to celebrate all November birthdays and anniversaries. Dust off them western duds, get all duded up and come on down to the activity center for a western dress contest. Winners will be treated to breakfast for two at the Top of the Trail Cafe.
November 8: Veterans Weekend
Let’s take time out to recognize our veterans of the armed forces. All veterans will be asked to sign in to be recognized and receive a small token of appreciation from the preserve staff. To honor all veterans, we’ll have a balloon release. Stay tuned for all unannounced activities during the day.
November 15: Winter Texan Welcome Party
Join the Texas Chapter of the FMCA and the Medina Lake staff as we welcome the arriving Winter Texans. We’ll start the week-long craft fair with their arrival, have a craft sale and banana splits. In the evening there will be a member jam session and a dance.
November 22: Craft Fair
This will be the completion of our second ever week-long “fair.” Members have brought their crafts in to be judged, and this is the weekend we find out who the winners are. During the day we will have a variety of craft events for all ages.
November 27: Thanksgiving Day Potluck Dinner
Join Thousand Trails members and staff for our traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner. We will put out “all you can eat” turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls and drinks. You bring a side dish and a dessert. Tickets will be on sale at the ranger station, Trading Post and the Top of the Trail Cafe.
November 29: Thanksgiving/Super Bingo Weekend
Join us for brown bag bingo and candy bar bingo in the morning. In the afternoon we’ll have card bingo, horseshoes and mini-golf. Super bingo will be in the evening with free cards and great prizes. Adults on the main floor and kids in the adult room.
December 6: Pearl Harbor Day Weekend
Let’s start the day with an all-day craft sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then join us for an old-fashioned birthday party with games, and ice cream and cake to celebrate all December birthdays and anniversaries. During the day we’ll take time to remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Not to be too solemn, we will have games on the lawn as well.
December 13: Member Christmas Party
We will have an all-day craft sale today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Go on a hayride with Santa and sing Christmas carols, then join Santa in the activity center, where his elves will be handing out hot chocolate. In the evening we will complete the trimming of the Christmas tree and enjoy party trays provided by the Top of the Trail Cafe.
December 20: Lazy Holidays
Let’s have another all-day craft sale today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meet in the activity center for whatever game suits you; there’ll be reindeer races, card bingo, board games and other unannounced activities.
December 25: Christmas Dinner
The Top of the Trail Cafe will put out an “all you can eat” Christmas buffet. You bring a side dish and dessert. Tickets and full details will be available at the Trading Post, ranger station and Top of the Trail Cafe.
December 27: Health and Wellness Fair
We will have the last of our month-long, all-day craft sale today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Want to make that New Year’s resolution all about health? Come to one of our health and wellness seminars during the day and get started. During the day, we’ll make up games and quizzes as we go. Nothing for the evening because we’re getting ready for New Year’s Eve.
December 31: New Year’s Eve Dance
Bring your snacks and drinks and let’s all say goodbye to 2008 together in the activity center.
